Meet the Branch Committee
Who We Are And The Election Process
The members elect the Branch Committee. There are 5 officer posts, President, Vice-President, Ex-President, Secretary and Treasurer.
Only the Secretary, Treasurer and Vice-President are elected annually because the Vice-President automatically steps up to become President, and the President remains on the Committee as Ex-President.
In addition 8 Executive Committee members are elected, and some of these undertake additional roles such as Primary Liaison Officer, Equalities Officer and Health, Safety & Wellbeing Officer.
We meet half-termly and any Branch member who wishes to become more involved is welcome to join us as more Committee members can be co-opted at any time. We discuss local and national issues in more detail, prepare motions for conference to be considered at the November Branch meeting, and organise local recruitment and social events.
