All NASUWT members who work in a school within the Derby City area, including Supply teachers, are automatically registered with the Derby NASUWT Local Association.
Members can keep their current school information up-to-date by logging into www.nasuwt.org.uk or by
calling the Membership Department on 03330 145550.
All members receive newsletters, information about meetings and other events direct to the address held on
their membership record. Remember to update this if you move house.
If you also register an email address (preferably non-school) then you will receive email reminders of events and important updates.
BECOME A REP
If there is no school representative at your school then why not become the rep? We can help you to contact other members at your school and hold an election. If there IS already a rep, they will almost certainly welcome any offer of help and support. Some schools have a “School Union Committee” so that a group of members help to organise meetings, maintain the noticeboard and raise the profile of the NASUWT within the school.
ATTEND A MEETING
The easiest way to become more involved with your union is to attend a Branch meeting. You will meet members from other schools, find out what’s happening both in Derby and around the country, and enjoy the free hot food and a drink. Travelling expenses are reimbursed, and we will also pay childcare costs if you need to make such arrangements in order to be able to come.
